Coyote Blue by Christpher Moore

File this one under weird.  It is at once hilarious and disgusting.  You laugh at the same time you’re saying, “Ewwww”, or “Oh my God!  Please, tell me he didn’t do that!”.

Our hero is Samson Hunts Alone, a Crow Indian who was forced to leave home, but has the luck (?!) to have Old Man Coyote as his spirit guide.  Coyote is a trickster, chameleon, and shapeshifter extraordinaire.

Coyote Blue is nothing if not odd.  But vastly enjoyable.

I recently read Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Friend and had the same reaction. Odd, but in a good way.
