Something Wicked

2008 October 4

Hey, y’all.  Finally, 4shared cooperated long enough for me to upload my new kit.  As promised, it has a Halloween theme:  Something Wicked.  This is my favorite quote from Macbeth.  :)   Unlike most of my kits, which are 500 x 500 pixels, this one is 600 x 600 pixels.

First, I want to tell you a funny story about one of my cats:  The Tale of the Falling Sky Ice.  The other day, we had several thunderstorms, most of them severe.  In one of these storms, it started to hail.  Quarters, mostly, with a few nickels and marbles.  Seigan, my orange-tabby little lion king slash vampire kitty, was on the front porch at the time.  He didn’t know what was going on!  Panicking, he dashed under the swing, completely ignoring the fact that I had the door open for him to come in.  Then the hail started to come down faster, and he totally lost it.  He ran like hell off the porch and I didn’t see him again until it was over.  LOL.  The poor thing is completely traumatized, though.  My sister dropped a piece of ice on the kitchen floor yesterday, and the cat took off running.  It took lots of cuddles to calm him down!

Anyway, here’s the freebie:

Something Wicked contains:

  • 6 papers
  • 2 ghosts
  • 1 fence
  • 1 cauldron
  • 4 bats
  • 4 ric rac
  • 3 bows
  • 2 moons
  • 1 fog overlay (play with the blend mode to get the effect you want)
  • 1 gravestone
  • 2 wordarts
  • 12 labels
  • 1 hanging beads
  • 1 pumpkin
  • 1 spider web
  • 1 quote (Macbeth, IV, I; not shown in preview)

The font used on the labels is Nosferatu by Kiwi Media.  The “wicked” in the word arts was typed with Rock Star Whiplash, the rest is done in Chic Decay.  Both of these fonts are copyright Last Soundtrack.  All three can be downloaded from dafont.com.  The bats were made with the dingbat font BatBats.  You can download it here.

The ghosts, the fence, and the tombstone were created with the help of Pracken’s wonderful tutorials.  I actually made the cauldron from a tute a few years ago.  It took me awhile to find it but, if you want to try making one yourself here it is:  Distinctively Donna – Cauldron Tutorial.

Download:  4shared and mediafire

Have fun!
