Well, I guess a good place to start would be to tell you where I learned to create all of the elements and papers y’all enjoy.
First, I joined the Winni Scrapbooking Lessons Group at Yahoo. In this group, each student is assigned a moderator who sends them each lesson and too whom their results are sent. The moderator will answer any questions and give advice. There are two sets of lessons. In the first set, you learn about photo tricks and layouts. Then, in the second, you learn how to make the various elements and papers.
Second, I found another group at Yahoo: Digital Scrapping Class. This one is less structured. You don’t have to join the group to do the lessons, because they also have a website with links to all of the lessons, as well as some extra tutorials.
After that, I just experimented, doodled, and, if it still didn’t look right, looked up other tutorials. Another excellent place to learn about digital scrapbooking, especially how to create eye-popping, gorgeous, layouts, is the the Shabby Shoppe Blog. Click on the “Tips and Tricks” link in the right-side column and you’ll find all kinds of tips, tricks, advise, and inspiration.
Next week, we’ll talk about ribbons and bows.
